Our in-house facilities
Formulation Laboratory
Our in-house application laboratory is where the magic happens! OK.... that sounds a bit lame. This is where we don our lab coats and play around with new ideas and formulation concepts.
It is the perfect setting for practical demonstrations and where we give training to clients and customers. We also have a small Quality Control laboratory attached to our production area.
Conference Room
Our conference room overlooks the laboratory to give added inspiration during meetings and training sessions. It does also overlook the A38, which is admittedly less inspiring!
As we are located just off M1 Junction 28, R3search Centre is the perfect and central location to meet and run through new and ongoing projects in person. Zoom meetings only achieve so much, and we love greeting visitors!
Algal growing suite
It's alive! Despite almost being based almost as far away from the sea as is geographically possible, we specialise in growing various species of algae in our designated growing suite.
We work in collaboration with several Universities and spin-off research organisations to understand and manipulate the key conditions to obtain high value microalgal and macroalgal origin materials.
Algal and Botanical extraction
We work with major algal and botanical active ingredient producers and focus on novel and highly effective extraction methods.
Ultrasound is one of our key extraction focuses, with our treasured Heilscher UIP2000hdT sonicator proudly shown in the photograph. This, along with other methods including Supercritical CO2 and superheated water, produce high potency extracts often without the need for any organic solvents at all.
Reaction and mixing vessels
We have a production room housing reaction equipment and mixing vessels to allow the synthesis and production of various compounds.
We work from pilot scale to full production scale, dependent on the compound(s) in question.
